Shareholders Claim Booking .com

With the publication of the book De Machine many facts came to light that made it clear that the share transfer in 2003 was faul. So many mistakes were made that shareholders from these times unite in the foundation: Stichting Aandeelhoudersclaim Boekingspunt Nederland. Boekingspunt Nederland was the first name of what is now known as Booking.com.

The foundation has the aim to further discover the facts and to explore and fulfill the possibilities of a claim.

The Machine

Booking.com, one of the most successful internet companies in Europe has been a mystery for 25 years. Everyone knows the website, but no one knows the people and their stories. The original Dutch company is now owned by an American holding.

This wil change now. Three Dutch journalists explored in detail the history of Booking.com. It started in the end of the nineties as an idea of a group of friends, all tech students at the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands. It grew to be the biggest and most powerfull internet hotel booking platform in the world.

This story was never told before, it describes the start, mislead shareholders and conflicts in the board room. But more than that it seems to be that this great money machine forgot about the people behind it.

The book will be translated into English and made available through Amazon.

Also Warner Bros, through its dutch subsidiary Hollands Licht bought the rights to turn the book into a movie.
